Volunteering to help the Society

If you are able to spare time to help with administration of the Society or ongoing genealogy projects the Trustees will be pleased to hear from you. If you would like to volunteer your services please email [email protected]. Unfortunately, no payment can be made other than for agreed out of pocket expenses but all offers of help are genuinely appreciated by all concerned.

Society Administration

As a voluntary organisation, administration of the Society is totally reliant upon the donation of time and effort from members in order to provide services and facilities for all its members. The Society welcomes offers of help with Society administration / office work, Opening Kirby Hall; looking after the Resource Centre Collection.

Projects

We would ask Members to supply details of any projects they are pursuing which are of a wider interest than their own immediate family histories. (e.g. village studies, occupations & professions, historical events, Census and Register transcription etc.). In this way there could be scope for comparison, collaboration and, via occasional reports in the Ancestor, useful publicity. The Society is always looking for transcribers of Parish Registers; help with Monumental Inscriptions; providers of Family trees.
