The Society has a large collection of documents (some original, others photocopies) relating to various Manors of Norfolk and Suffolk. These include Court Rolls, Court Books, Minute Books covering Tenancy Agreements, Admissions, Surrenders, Releases, Deeds, Conveyances, Indentures, Sale Agreements. Indexing these is quite difficult even when they have an exact date and refer to a particular piece of land on an Estate. Many are quite old and need conservation so the aim is to deposit many of these with the Norfolk Record Office.

Before depositing them, names in each document are being extracted so that a Surname Search can be made on these rather than the Document itself. We are also photographing the documents so they can be viewed in their entirety. Gradually we are adding these names to NORS so they are freely available to members
