40th Anniversary Garden Party

To celebrate the founding of the Norfolk and Norwich Genealogical Society (which later became the Norfolk Family History Society) in 1968 and to mark our 40th Anniversary, we will be hosting a:

STRAWBERRY TEA on Sunday, 27th July 2008
taking place at Wolterton Hall, Norfolk
by kind permission of Lord and Lady Walpole.

The RIX Open Day

The Rix Open Day will be held on Saturday, 21st June 2008 taking place Ketts Park Sports Hall, Harts Farm Road, Wymondham, Norfolk (plenty of parking).

All Rixs, Rix descendants, and anyone with an interest in the Rix Family name are most welcome to attend. Rix descendants may very well find remote, and sometimes not so remote, relatives to further their family knowledge.

The Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and the RFA AGM (usually quite brief) will take place during the afternoon. Anyone wishing to attend and requiring lunch (for a very reasonable price) should contact Sheelagh Rix on 01727 832762 or Sue Simpson on 01953 454404. Filby Association - 40th Anniversary Celebration

The FILBY Association will be having a special 40th Anniversary Celebration in All Saint's Church in the village of Filby in Norfolk at 2.30pm on Sunday 6th July.  All people with an interest in any spelling of the surname - Filby, Filbey, Filbee, Philby, Philbey, etc - will be welcome to come and join in our Family Service. There will be refreshments in the Church Hall after the service, and we will have some of our Filby Association history and records, including electronic data, for people to look at.

BUCKS Family History Society Open Day

26th July 10.00am - 4.00pm at The  Grange  School, Wendover Way, Aylesbury. Main attractions including Bucks Family History Society library and databases, guest societies and commercial suppliers. [On the linked map find the river Yare and SOUTH QUAY.
Go eastward along YARMOUTH WAY and Christchurch will
be found at its junction with King Street.]
