Geographic Area Codes
Norfolk Area Codes - Members Interests
This map (reproduced from the Norfolk Family History Society membership pack) should be used by members and prospective members for identifying the NFHS Area Code associated with a geographic region. The Area Code provides a means for Members to indicate their interest in an family surname is restricted to a specific geographic area within Norfolk.
New Members, and those existing Members who wish to rise their Members Interests, should enter the two letter Area Code on the Members Interest form.

NORFOLK is divided into areas as follows:
- NFK = All Norfolk (This covers research of a Surname across all of the county).
(19th century market towns are indicated on the map. eg. Loddon).
To decide which area code goes with a place when one knows the Hundred use the table which follows:-
- CN - Eynesford, Launditch, Mitford,
- NC - Blofield, Forehoe, Henstead, Humbleyard, Norwich (City and County of the City), Taverham
- NE - Erpingham(South), Erpingham (North), Happing, Holt, Tunstead
- NW - Brothercross, (Docking - an earlier Hundred since merged into Smithdon), Freebridge-Lynn, Freebridge-Marshland, Gallow, Greenhoe (North), Lynn (Borough of King's), Smithdon
- SE - Clavering, Depwade, Diss, Earsham, Loddon
- SW - Clackclose, Greenhoe (South), Grimshoe, Guiltcross, Shropham, Thetford (Borough of), Wayland
- YM - Flegg(East), Flegg(West), Walsham, Yarmouth (Borough of Great)
