Kirby Hall LibraryKirby Hall Library is the headquarters of the Norfolk Family History Society, situated in Norwich at 70 St. Giles Street, Norwich, NR2 1LS. The library contains a large selection of genealogical resources for the family historian including genealogy books, parish register transcripts, census, monumental inscriptions, family trees and more.

Research Room

Research RoomThe layout of the Research Room is broadly shown in the picture. membership of the Society entitles members to utilize the resources available at Kirby Hall, includings microfilm and microfiche readers along with photocopying equipment.


Enquiry DeskWhen visiting Kirby Hall, please sign in at the Enquiry Desk on the left. A volunteer should be available here to answer any queries you may have.


BookshopThe Book Stall is situated in the Library and purchases can be made directly when visiting Kirby Hall.


Identification and Help

Your membership card may be requested if you are unknown to volunteers on duty. Please bear with them if they have to verify your identity. The volunteers on duty are happy to assist you in finding your way around the library but can not be expected to do numerous lookups for you.
