The Norfolk Ancestor
The Norfolk Ancestor is the title of the journal published by the Norfolk Family History Society. The Norfolk Ancestor is free to members and is published quarterly in March, June, September and December. The journal contains a lively mix of articles from accounts of personal family history research to book reviews, requests and offers of assistance with family history miscallanea and much more.
For those who wish to obtain back-issues, the Society maintains a list of Norfolk Ancestor Journals together with description of contents covering editions from 1992 to present day. To request a back-copy, please contact us.
Stop press! At present the contents of past journals are offline while a searchable database is developed. Over time, we hope to provide full articles on-line to members - further details will be announced in The Norfolk Ancestor.
Writing Contributions
The Editor has produced the following guidelines and notes to assist potential contributors to the Ancestor journal.
Guidelines:
- Articles should include full and accurate referencing and should identify:
- Author(s);
- Date of publication;
- Title of book;
- Place of publication;
- Name of publisher.
- In the case of references to articles in addition to the title of the article, the name, volume number and part/issue number of the Journal should be included as well.
- Contributors may wish to include their telephone number with their submission so that they may be telephoned to clarify matters if they have any difficulty with this.
- The Editor is always ready to offer advice about presentation and content. Why not submit something and possibly see your work in print
- The copy dates for submission of articles for inclusion in the next Ancestor (providing space is available) are normally the 15th of January, April, July and October or as published in the latest Ancestor.
